Miri Liu

Miri is a 1st year CS PhD student under the supervision of Professor ChengXiang Zhai and Professor Jiawei Han. Currently, she works on AI for scientific discovery with a focus on scientific novelty evaluation and hypothesis generation. She previously graduated from UCLA with a double B.S. in computer science and in mathematics. At UCLA, she was an undergraduate researcher in the PLUS Lab, where she co-authored two papers on creative generation, one of which received an Outstanding Paper Award at EMNLP 2024.
