Spiros Xanthos

2025 Young Alumni Achievement Award

Spiros Xanthos grew up in Greece and moved to the U.S. to pursue a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his Master’s degree in 2007. He went on to found Log Insight (acquired by VMware) and Omnition (acquired by Splunk), and is one of the co-creators of OpenTelemetry, now the industry standard for telemetry collection. At Splunk, Spiros served as SVP and GM of the Observability business, directly leading both product and engineering. He is currently the founder and CEO of Resolve AI, building Agentic AI that autonomously troubleshoots software issues and handles operational tasks—with the goal of accelerating how engineers build, deploy, and maintain real-world software systems.
