Richard T. Cheng Endowed Fellowship
Richard T. Cheng earned his M.S. in electrical engineering in 1969 and Ph.D. in computer science in 1971 from the University of Illinois. He was the founding chair of the Department of Computer Science at both Rochester Institute of Technology and Old Dominion University, and he was the founder and chairman of ECI Systems and Engineering, an information technology and integrated systems company that was headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He has established the Richard T. Cheng Fellowship to assist the department in recruiting and retaining exceptional graduate students. Learn more about his inspirations to give back.
