Jiaqi Ma, iSchool assistant professor and CS affiliate assistant professor, received a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award with his project "Data Attribution and Curation for Web-Scale AI Systems." Ma's project will develop new tools to understand how individual components of training data affect the behavior of large artificial intelligence systems. Considered the NSF's most prestigious award, it offers support to early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.
