What are your interests within computer science?
I'm very interested in scientific computation, theory, data science, and security. In particular, I find scientific machine learning and its applications to be really cool.

How did you get interested in Computer Science?
I've always loved video games and other stuff related to tech. However, I experienced a bit of stigmatization when I tried it out my freshman year of college. Over Covid, I decided to pursue this interest during my free time, and I fell in love with it.

What social interests matter to you?
I love supporting other students trying to transition into STEM. Many people experience stigmatization when transitioning. I want to give a welcoming environment and help them pursue their interests in the field. Thus, while at iCAN, I was a part of Girls Who Code.

What is your most impactful iCAN experience?
There were many things that impacted my educational journey at iCAN, both in and out of the classroom. If I had to choose something, it would be the end of the first semester. To prepare for the Fundamentals of Programming final, I looked back at all the lecture notes, worksheets, and assignments. Immediately, I noticed how much I grew as a programmer. Initially, I found some of those topics to be very difficult. However, due to the course structure, I ended up continuing to use those concepts throughout the semester. Now, I completely understand how to approach the concept, and I find it crazy how much I grew in only a few months.

What are your hobbies/outside interests?
I enjoy exercising, playing chess, hanging out with friends, and cooking
