What are your interests within computer science?
Within computer science I am very interested in machine learning, data science, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecruity.
How did you get interested in Computer Science?
I got interested in Computer Science when I had to use R for one of my courses during my time as an undergraduate student, but I was not able to gain any more experience beyond that from my degree. However, my roommate was in the CS program at UIUC and I was able to learn a little bit more about computer science from him, and that is when I became really intrigued about computer science.
What social interests matter to you?
Having equality amongst people from different backgrounds, providing education to all individuals, and preserving the environment are social interests that matter to me.
What is your most impactful iCAN experience?
The most impactful iCAN experience for me has been getting to know all of my peers for my cohort. All of us in the program come from different backgrounds and fields of study, and it has been a challenge for each and every student to learn the fundamentals computer science without having prior knowledge. However, because we all understand how challenging the iCAN program can be, we are able to build up our community more strongly and help each other grow as we all face the same challenges.
What are your hobbies/outside interests?
Some of my hobbies including volleyball, basketball, running, solving puzzles and occasionally watching movies.
