Biography
Hui Ren is a Computer Science Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Alexander Schwing. Before joining UIUC, he received his bachelor’s degree from ShanghaiTech University and conducted research at MIT CSAIL and UCLA. His research focuses on multimodal generation and understanding across vision and language, including diffusion models for image, video, and language generation, as well as multimodal large language models. His research goal is to build general-purpose intelligent systems capable of perceiving, understanding, reasoning, and creating across modalities and over lifelong horizons.
