Biography
Shujin Wu is a first-year Computer Science PhD student in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Heng Ji. Her research spans AI alignment, self-evolving agents, and human-model interaction. She works on scalable alignment approaches that keep AI systems aligned with human intents and values even as models surpass human capability, on agents that continually improve themselves through experience and interaction rather than static supervision, and on trustworthy, human-centered language and vision-language models that collaborate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.Her work has appeared at conferences including EMNLP, COLING, and COLM. She holds an M.Sc. from the University of Southern California and was an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon.
