How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I am a kind of person who enjoy finding patterns in the world around me. Whenever I think about how I solve a problem, I notice a pattern. I enjoy the process of making sure things are logical.

Research Description

Biography
I'm Yuxin Wang, a rising senior student majoring in computer science at UIUC. My specific interests involve software programming, artificial intelligence and data science. I have been working as a Research Assistant at the Forward Data Lab of U of I. The research is about building a computer science dictionary that can show the explanation and related research of a given professional term. I'm responsible for finding related keywords using NLP technics such as word embedding, and for building a website that provides related information of a keyword using React and Flask, Django. I am also in a group of four to build a website that allows users to search the average house price and rental price and check the price fluctuation and trend within the last several years. I am responsible for writing the frontend functions and backend advanced SQL queries using Django React, and for setting up the SQL database. Besides these programming experience, I also I worked as a Data Analyst Intern with ATLAS and Student Money Management Center of UIC. I handled data from more than fifty thousand college students. I analyzed their demographic, financial, and academic information, found the trends in enrollment information, and made prediction using machine learning models. I enjoy taking on new challenges. I enjoy finding patterns around me and the process of making sure everything is logical.
