Research/Engagement Experience
Last year, I did research under the Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) on campus with my mentor, Cindy Chen. We utilized Fortran based models to denote the sediment-oxygen demand within water, which is often times used to denote water quality and aquatic populations within that body of water. I was also a CS STAR last semester, doing research under Professor Elahe Soltanaghai as well. This research revolved around the orientation and position sensing of a quadrotor.
Interests
I am interested all things CS, aerospace, and rocketry in general! In the future, I would love to see my CS degree being applied within the autonomous embedded systems of an aerospace company. Aside from that, I am also deeply interested in PCB (printed circuit board) design, and general electronic hardware.

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My dad is a big Computer Science geek, and got me interested in the field. Seeing how broad the field of Computer Science is, and how many intersections it has with other fields, I could not resist pursing a career within Computer Science.
What social interests matter to me?
One of the big social interests that matters to me is providing equal opportunities to displaced communities within the United States. The United States is home to many families with limited access to technology, education, and more. As my career progresses, I hope to work alongside these people to understand what their desires are, and provide them with the equal opportunities that I have had throughout my life thus far.
What is my most impactful college experience?
My most impactful college experience has been my time at The Illinois Space Society on campus. Through this club, I have learned so many new technical concepts (such as how to build an L1 rocket & design a PCB), and have met some of the most talented, humble, and kind people, who always push me to become my best self.

Research Description
My research revolves around utilizing the sensors on the Crazyflie Quadroter, a small drone, directing infrared beams to it, and performing calculations to denote the position of the drone with respect to the designated origin. Once this phase has been completed, the goal is to be able to create live simulations of the drone and its movement in the virtual environment, ARENA. The process involves pulling data on the x, y, and z positions of the drone, as well as the yaw, pitch, and roll values for each measurement. After this, by using PyBullet, one is able to simulate the movement of the drone, with respect to the origin, and transfer the simulations to the virtual environment. The ultimate goal is to create a real-time simulation of the drone as it flies, and implement this simulation into the virtual environment of ARENA.
Biography
Eisha Peyyeti is sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science here, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She loves to tinker around with electronics, write miscellaneous code, and do both of those things in the company of amazing people! On campus, she is extremely involved in The Illinois Space Society, where she works with a team to launch high-power rockets, as well as the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She looks forward to another semester with CS STARS, and cannot wait to see the technical and social impact that her work has.
