Project Title
How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My interest in computer science began when I was a kid and started learning HTML and CSS. I was fascinated by how I could create simple web pages and see my ideas turn into something real on the screen. It was satisfying to build something from scratch and see it come to life, even in a small way. This early experience made me curious about how technology works and how I could use coding to create practical solutions. Over time, this curiosity grew into a passion for computer science, which I continue to explore and develop today.
What social interests matter to me?
Women in technology is an important social interest for me. Being involved in Women in Computer Science (WCS) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), I’ve seen firsthand the challenges women face in the tech industry. This experience motivated me to join CS STARS. I believe in creating an environment where women feel supported and encouraged to pursue careers in technology. Through these organizations, I’m committed to helping increase representation and opportunities for women in this field.
What is my most impactful college experience?
One of the most impactful experiences I’ve had in college was attending the Women in Engineering orientation, where I met some of my closest friends. This experience helped me build a strong support network from the very beginning of my college journey. Being surrounded by like-minded peers who share my passion for engineering and technology has been incredibly empowering. Together, we’ve navigated the challenges of our coursework, supported each other in our personal and academic growth, and contributed to creating a more inclusive environment in our field. This connection has had a lasting impact on my college experience and beyond.
These are a few of my favorite things!
I love stationary, the color purple, playing tennis / pickleball, and watching movies!
