How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I built a web platform for my high school’s annual textbook sale/exchange! It was the first time I had ever programmed anything, but the longer I worked on the project, the more I became fascinated at the potential of computer science to transform our lives for the better.
What social interests matter to me?
Equity in education, food distribution/waste, gender equality

What is my most impactful college experience?
Joining Hack4Impact and getting to work with our nonprofit client, OpenAQ, to design and develop a web platform that educates users about Air Quality Indexes!

Firmiana Wang is a second-year student studying Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Born in Canada, she grew up in Champaign and is interested in interactive computing and exploring the impact of computing on society.
