Project Title
How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My background in CS began in elementary school when I joined FIRST robotics. I worked diligently as part of a team to learn to program a small robot to complete tasks and earn point. Through research via YouTube videos and trial and error, I taught myself to code. I soon moved on to more complex programming, using various sensors to make my programs more accurate. As I learned more, my programs became more advanced, and I loved the rush of exhilaration that each successful run brought. My experience in robotics inspired me to continue to develop my skills and was the foundation that led me to pursue Computer Science.
What social interests matter to me?
Environmental sustainability and Environmental justice, as well as making STEM careers more accessible for women.
What is my most impactful college experience?
I loved attending the Admitted Women in CS Day! It was amazing to connect with other students in CS and talk to upper classmen about their experiences.
These are a few of my favorite things!
Reading, hiking, baking, and spending time with my family and friends!

Biography
I am currently a James Scholar Honors student at UIUC and am majoring in Computer Science and Economics. I have experience developing projects in several programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Visual Basic. I have a passion for public speaking, and have loved taking part in activities like Debate, Speech, and Mock Trial, as they have enabled me to strengthen my public speaking skills to become an effective communicator. In high school, I started using my voice to make a difference, and I have given speeches at various climate conferences and rallies to call for environment protection. I look forward to using CS to continue to make change, and I'm excited to become a part of the CS STARS team!
