Project Title
How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My passion for computer science began in freshman year of high school when I joined Technovation, a program where girls collaborate to build mobile applications to address community issues. This was the first time I was able to apply what I learned in my introductory CS classes to real-world applications, such as inaccessibility of physical therapy services during COVID. More specifically, this was my first intersection between computer science and healthcare, and I haven't looked back since!
What social interests matter to me?
I'm extremely passionate about increasing access to technology and computer science careers for girls in underrepresented areas. I've collaborated with teachers in India, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic to provide virtual coding lessons and mentoring in my free time.
What is my most impactful college experience?
As a freshman, it's been amazing meeting and connecting with new people from all across the world. Illinois is truly a melting pot of various cultures, passions, and career choices.
These are a few of my favorite things!
Matcha, nature, basically anything green!
