Project Title
How did I get interested in Computer Science?
As a kid, I didn't have a clear sense of what I wanted to do, just a desire to solve problems and make a positive impact. But when I started hearing about the work my family and friends were doing in computer science, I was drawn to how it could be a versatile tool to tackle a wide range of issues. I saw computer science as a way to explore different topics and challenges, rather than being pigeonholed into one specific field. Each internship and project I took on in CS further piqued my curiosity, as I realized it was the perfect way for me to combine my interests in problem-solving, innovation, and creating change through technology.

Biography
As a sophomore studying computer science at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, I'm driven to apply my technical skills to address pressing social and environmental issues. I'm particularly interested in leveraging artificial intelligence for sustainable solutions. Beyond my coursework, I love being involved in my community - serving on the outreach committee for Women in Computer Science to increase access to CS opportunities for high school students, and consulting with local software startups through CUBE Consulting. Outside the classroom, I love cooking and coffee-making (I even worked as a barista at Starbucks to learn more about it). I'm excited by the power tech has to spark positive change.
