Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My parents always encouraged me to explore the field of Computer Science. Growing up, I participated in robotics, coding classes, and various tech-related activities. However, it wasn’t until I took a Computer Science class in high school that I realized I really liked it. What was supposed to be an easy elective turned out to be the most challenging course I ever took. Despite the difficulty, I found that tackling programming projects, no matter how complex or time-consuming was enjoyable. I loved the process of solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles.

What social interests matter to me?
I am passionate about bridging the gender gap in STEM fields and providing equal access to educational opportunities for everyone.

What is my most impactful college experience?
Meeting like-minded individuals who share my interests and passions has been the most impactful experience of my college life. They have inspired me to aim higher and encouraged me to achieve things I never thought possible. Connecting with such amazing and talented people has truly made all the difference.

Biography
Shreya Perumalla, a sophomore from Peoria, Illinois, is majoring in Computer Science. Motivated by a passion for learning and exploration, her journey into Computer Science was inspired by her experiences with robotics, coding, and various tech activities. In her free time, Shreya enjoys hiking, playing tennis, reading, and coffee. She is dedicated to bridging the gender gap in STEM fields and hopes to empower women to confidently enter STEM spaces.
