How did I get interested in Computer Science?
As a child, I participated regularly in STEM-related learning. I would participate in classes and camps at a local university and spend time playing online coding games, such as Code Monkey.
What social interests matter to me?
Why did you choose Illinois?
I grew up hearing many positive things about the school. When I attended the admitted students day for Women in Computer Science, I was excited about the resources available. I was impressed with the track record of graduates from U of I.
What are your passions outside of computing?
Being a summer camp counselor in Michigan, listening to music, spending time with friends

Biography
I am a freshman from St. Charles, IL majoring in statistics + computer science. I have always enjoyed math and computer science so the blend was a natural fit for me! During high school, I took advantage of many different opportunities for leadership and trying new things - I particularly enjoyed participating in Model UN and DECA. I enjoy forming friendships across many contexts and love spending time with friends.
