Research/Engagement Experience
How did I get interested in Computer Science?
Starting with block coding in elementary school, I've always been curious about technology, but my interest in computer science deepened when I realized I could use it to solve real-world problems. Being exposed to medical conditions as a child instilled a focus healthcare, and as I began coding, I realized I could develop projects like neural networks to classify skin cancer or a generative model to analyze metastasis. Through these science fair projects, research at local universities, and high schools math and programming courses, I strengthened my coding skills and explored how computer science could intersect with fields like biology, economics, and equity. The interdisciplinary nature and ability to build something that could make a difference is what draws me to computer science.
