Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My dad came to UIUC studying computer science so I've been surrounded my whole life. He would talk to me about his projects which made me want to learn more. So I took AP CS in high school I knew I wanted to study this.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose it because it was a top school for computer science, was close to home but not too close and has a great social environment

What are your passions outside of computing?
I'm very passionate about weight lifting and going to the gym. I have been going since my sophomore year of high school. I can really better myself and take my mind off things when I go. Academically, I am very into biology and genetics. I love learning about the small machinery inside the cells and what really makes the human body human.

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
I really enjoyed meeting new people and going to all the student events at welcome week. It was a very fun time and you will find so many people similar to you.

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
I really enjoy hiking at national parks, garden salsa SunChips, listening to music, Chicago (or just cities) and biology.

Biography
Hi! My name is Jordan Alioto and I am studying CS + BIOE. Im from Oak Park Illinois, the first suburb west of Chicago. I love hiking at national parks and finding new music to listen to. Before my first semester with the STARS I conducted some research for a club in high school but haven't reached the college level yet. I am interested in machine learning, robotics and interactive computing. I hope that my research can make a positive impact on the community around me.
