How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I have been deeply fascinated by the numerous advancements in Computer Science and the profound ways they have transformed our lives. These innovations have provided solutions in healthcare, addressed environmental crises, and promoted greater equality. However, as the field continues to expand rapidly, new and increasingly complex challenges emerge—particularly regarding how technology is utilized by people. Driven by this dynamic landscape, I aspire to be part of the Computer Science community. I want to harness its intriguing complexity to tackle the perplexing and pressing problems facing our world today.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
UIUC is renowned as a hub for opportunities in Computer Science. I have come across remarkable research conducted by students, supported by the abundant resources available to them. Additionally, UIUC has consistently emphasized community building, which has inspired me and sparked my curiosity about how they have cultivated such an engaging and supportive environment.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I love volunteering, trekking and gardening.

Research Description

Biography
I am a freshman majoring in Computer Science at UIUC. Since my junior year of high school, I have been actively involved in research, which has fueled my passion for the field. Throughout high school, I also had the rewarding experience of tutoring and mentoring younger students, helping them develop stronger problem-solving skills and fostering qualities of advocacy, equality, and community support. I am excited to pursue a graduate degree to deepen my expertise in Computer Science and to advance my skills in areas I am passionate about, including cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
