How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I took a coding bootcamp in middle school which sparked my interest in coding. Then I took AP Computer Science classes in high school which further developed my logical reasoning. Recently, I was part of Girls Who Code's Summer Immersion Program which helped me figure out my interest in AI.
What social interests matter to me?
Why did you choose Illinois?
Many of my family-friends have attended Illinois have had awesome things to say! Their influence plus the R1 research facilities really persuaded me to choose Illinois.
What are your passions outside of computing?
I love creating posters and doing graphic design. I enjoy reading, currently mystery is my favorite genre!

Biography
I am Parul Saxena, a freshman studying Computer Science at UIUC. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, but I have also lived in India. In my free time I like to listen to music, play badminton, do karate, and spend time with friends :)
