How did I get interested in Computer Science?
In primary school, I installed an aimbot script in the school lab to use on my friends' Krunker private server. Beating them gave me a rush, and I genuinely thought I was a genius for getting it to work. I believed that was the essence of Computer Science: making computers bend to your will. I’ve stuck with it ever since, even as I’ve learned what the field truly entails.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois because it is a premier R1 institution with a massive research output and a top-tier Computer Science program. The opportunity to contribute to high-impact research in an environment that consistently pushes the boundaries of technology made UIUC the obvious choice.

What are your passions outside of computing?
Outside of computing, I am passionate about playing the drums—focusing on jazz and rock—and staying active through sports and physical fitness.

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
My favorite experiences at Illinois include the high energy of Quad Day—mostly hoarding as much free things as possible—and connecting with new friends over board games during Welcome Week. Beyond that, being deeply involved in RSOs has been the highlight of my time here, providing both a community and a place to grow outside the classroom.

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
Live music, video games, hanging out with friends, traveling
