Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I’ve always been curious about how things work and started experimenting with HTML and creating simple apps as a child. But what really drew me in was my first robotics competition when I was 10 years old. Working with a team to build something tangible and solve real-world problems showed me that technology can be harnessed to address challenges at every level, starting right from the grassroots. Since then, I’ve only become more excited to explore what’s possible with Computer Science.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois for its CS program, strong research opportunities, and the collaborative community it offers. The chance to learn from leading faculty, work on impactful projects, and join student groups that value innovation and inclusivity made Illinois the ideal place to grow and explore my interests in computing.

What are your passions outside of computing?
Equity is something I deeply care about, particularly gender equity in STEM and creating spaces where underrepresented voices are heard. I’m also passionate about making technology inclusive and accessible, and ensuring that innovation addresses real societal challenges rather than leaving people behind.

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
One of my favorite experiences at Illinois has been Quad Day. It’s such a fun way to see just how much the campus has to offer and find communities that match your interests. I also loved the Women in Engineering Orientation, which made me feel instantly connected and supported from day one!

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
Late night Insomnia Cookie runs, The Strokes on vinyl, F1 race weekends, the perfect 90:10 cheese-to-caramel popcorn ratio, and unwinding with my guitar.

Biography
I’m a Statistics and Computer Science student, passionate about creating technology that drives real-world impact. This summer as an intern at EY, I’m developing an MLOps pipeline for anomaly detection in network usage, gaining hands-on experience in scalable systems and secure ML workflows. On campus, I’m involved with ACM Corporate, serve as Project Director for the Illinois Consulting Group, and Vice President for Girls Who Code’s UIUC College Loop. My goal in CS is to blend technical innovation with accessibility, building solutions that are inclusive, sustainable, and impactful. Excited to be a part of the CS STARS program!
