Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I first got interested in Computer Science my Sophomore year of high school when I took a course that allowed me to create my own songs with the help of python. I immediately loved the creativity and logic behind code. What was also fascinating was how people can come to the same final product but have extremely different and unique code.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
Definitely the culmination of research opportunities available, an uplifting and diverse community, along with courses that piqued my curiosity.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I enjoy learning new skills and applying them to my own projects!

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
My most impactful college experience so far would definitely be having the opportunity to meet and network with inspiring students and faculty at UIUC. I am particularly grateful for the women I met at UIUC's Society of Women Engineers organization where I found a community of like minded, driven individuals who encouraged me to explore my passions in and out of the classroom. I would say to take advantage of Quad Day and sign up for not only RSOs that pertain to your major, but also RSOs where you feel like you can have a creative outlet!

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)
One of my favorite experiences being a part of CS STARS would be having the opportunity to participate in research along with volunteering at outreach events.

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
I always find myself cooking, baking, and spending my time with loved ones!

Biography
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL where I attended Lane Tech College Prep. Throughout high school, I was on the Cross Country team that taught me the importance of having patience and dedication. I have always had a love for food, and with more free time because of COVID, I realized I really enjoy cooking meals for my family. I am excited to bring my passion for helping people through the application of computing to CS STARS!
