Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My fascination with computer science sprouted in high school, and at UIUC I’ve nurtured that interest through classes and projects that challenged me to think critically about real-world problems. One of these issues near and dear to me is resource scarcity. My great-grandparents would tell me stories of droughts, and generations later, over one billion people still lack access to fresh water. Creative applications of computer science and statistics can help alleviate not only this challenge but countless humanitarian struggles.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois because of its strong academic programs, opportunities for research like CS STARS, and unique RSOs.

What are your passions outside of computing?
My biggest passion outside of computing is baking. My favorite part of baking is baking cakes and then decorating them.

Hi! I'm Heta and I'm sophomore studying Stats & CS at UIUC. I'm passionate about computer science and utilizing it to solve real-world problems with a humanitarian impact. I'm interested in researching any area of computer science, but specifically AI, ML, Robotics, Software, or Data. In my free time, I love baking, cooking, & painting :)
