How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I always loved math and problem solving. When I took programming classes in high school I realized that computer science utilizes the same type of thinking that I enjoyed in my math classes. With that, Mathematics and Computer Science was the perfect major for me!

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
One of my favorite experiences was welcome week freshman year. It was so fun to meet so many people and be in a completely new environment. I made some of my closest friends that week too!

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)
As a part of CS outreach, I taught a class for SAIL, which was a lot of fun!

Biography
I’m Nancy, a junior studying Math & Computer Science at UIUC. I’m from the Chicago suburbs but I’ve lived in Tennessee and China as well. In my free time , I love watching sitcoms, spending time with friends and family, going on walks, and visiting new coffee shops.
