Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I got into CS through robotics back in elementary school. We used LEGO and simple code to build robots, and I was fascinated by how just a few lines of programming could control their movement and behavior. That hands-on experience showed me the potential of code to create systems that people can interact with and benefit from. Since then, I’ve been especially interested in topics like AI and automation.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose UIUC specifically because of the incredible CS program and the unmatched research opportunities and network you build here.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I really like photography and creating content for social media. I enjoy taking photos of outfits, places I travel to, and basically anything that looks cool. Beyond that, I love listening to music, spending time with friends and family, and I'm always looking for new things to try!

Biography
Hi, I’m Polina! I'm currently studying Computer Science here at UIUC with a minor in Data Science. I aim to contribute to autonomous systems, machine learning, and computer vision fields, with a focus on developing intelligent systems that are technically robust and capable of shaping our lives through practical, forward-thinking applications that push the boundaries of what we think is possible. I’m also passionate about exploring fashion tech and rethinking how we approach fashion and shopping, with a focus on sustainability and creativity.
