How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I believe my passion started when I began playing chess in kindergarten. Even though I was awful at it, I loved how the game allowed me to problem solve and strategize. Then in high school, when I took my first computer science course I realized that coding was very similar because it allowed me to utilize those same skills, and I became enthralled with the subject.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose UIUC, not only because of its extremely prestigious computer science program, but because of its community and campus. I feel like everyone at UIUC is supportive, and the campus buildings to greenspaces to other amenities makes UIUC an amazing place not just for academics, but to grow as a person.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I’m very interested in combining my love for computer science with the environment, where I eventually hope to make impactful projects that fight against environmental harm. I also love animals so you can find me volunteering at my local animal shelter back home or taking care of my plants!

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
Some of my favorite things include Snoopy, mystery books/movies, animals (especially cats), and the dining hall ice cream.
