Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I became interested in computer science through my curiosity about how technology works and how it can be used to solve problems. I enjoyed learning to code and creating projects that combined creativity with logic. Over time, experiences like research opportunities and teaching younger students helped me realize how impactful computer science can be in many different fields. Those experiences made me excited to continue exploring and learning more about technology.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois for the unique combination of a creative and technical field through my major and the beautiful campus and community!

What are your passions outside of computing?
Outside of computing, I enjoy staying active through sports and being part of team environments where I can grow and challenge myself. I also have a strong interest in Indian classical music, which helps me build discipline and focus. In addition, I care about community involvement and enjoy being in spaces where I can collaborate with others and contribute to shared goals.

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
Basketball, Indian classical music, good food, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing after a long day by watching a 90's sitcom.

Biography
Hi! I’m Aanya Pandia, a student from the Bay Area with a strong interest in computer science and problem-solving. I enjoy learning how technology works and applying that knowledge to real projects that challenge me to think creatively and logically. Outside of academics, I play basketball, practice Indian classical music, and stay involved in community activities. These experiences have helped me build discipline, teamwork, and consistency. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and exploring new experiences. I’m excited to continue growing in computer science and discovering new areas to explore.
