How did I get interested in Computer Science?
Logic and problem solving are traits that I believe are the most important to have. CS puts that logic to work, which allows me to truly think and engage myself when writing code, making it the most interesting major for me.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois for various different reasons, one of which being its extensive and strong CS program. Alongside that, its top tier research network made it a top choice for me. Beyond academics, the Big 10 atmosphere and college town feel were big factors in making me choose Illinois as my home.

What are your passions outside of computing?
Outside of computing, my academic interests mainly lie within the field of mathematics. Problem solving, and learning advanced theory interest me the most. I also enjoy playing various sports, my favorite being pickleball.

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
Some of my favorite activities include various sports and hobbies, including pickleball, table tennis, golf, and lifting. I also watch various sports, including formula 1, football, and soccer. Some of my favorite music artists are Drake, Tory Lanez, Coldplay, and Don Toliver.

Biography
Hi! My name is Adrit Sikdar, and I am a Freshman at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign majoring in Computer Science & Astronomy. I'm most passionate about machine learning and applied computing research. I've worked on multiple machine learning projects, including recognized independent research and an internship at AT&T CAHSAA. I'm interested in furthering my knowledge on machine learning through organized research, and helping those around me grow alongside me. I hope that through my growth in college, I can share my knowledge in CS for the well-being of those around me.
