Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I was first captivated by technology after visiting the Indian Institute of Science National Science Day Fair. Following this, I curiously began examining the working of everyday devices like smartphones, refrigerators, laptops and washing machines. In school, I was introduced to Java and Python, soon realising that programming could be used to develop creative solutions for all problems. Since then, I continue to explore, build and experiment in computer science! I now see computer science as much more than just coding - it is a way of questioning, creating, and transforming curiosity into meaningful impact. It is a way of life.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I am passionate to pursue meaningful research in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Parallel Computing, Computer Architecture, and Interactive Computing. A project-based curriculum enables effective learning for me, rather than a curriculum only based on theory. I actively seek learning opportunities on campus that cater to my eagerness to discover and experiment. For a curious, hardworking and inquisitive student like me who is always keen to know more, UIUC is the ideal university as it combines each important element into one cohesive environment.

What are your passions outside of computing?
Outside of computing, I am passionate about the environment, sustainability, and giving back to my community - the people and plants around me. I am also committed to increasing access to sustainable menstrual products. I have already hosted a fundraiser for this cause back home and I would love to continue this initiative in UIUC by hosting bake sales and joining relevant clubs!

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
I enjoy reading (fiction and non-fiction), playing chess, forest bathing, doing origami, coding, tackling new challenges and solving riddles (like sudoku) that sharpen my problem-solving skills.
