Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
My middle school computer science teacher accidentally forgot to make us order software that was necessary for us to complete our syllabus of CS fundamentals from an online course, so instead we spent a year just coding random stuff. I would usually finish pretty quickly, so he would give me extra work to do, and through that continuous, unstructured exposure to computer science, I became fascinated.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois because it's really convenient to get to from where I grew up (it's 4 turns away from my house) and it offers a great budget conscious education.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I spend my free time bouncing between lifting, watching MMA, and Seinfeld. Recently, I've been reading a little too.

The thing that is most important to me is probably my faith. Besides that, I like self-improvement.

Biography
Hey, I'm Jake! I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana not far away from here. I was drawn to CS in middle school by a particularly caring teacher, and I haven't looked back. The most important part of who I am is my faith, and I'm actually going through OCIA this year too. On a more everyday note, I enjoy lifting, watching TV, and listening to music (particularly fond of 70s rock).
