Project Title

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
From a young age, I have been fascinated by the idea of creation and innovation. This interest pushed me towards pursuing Computer Science as my career. Computer Science allows me to be innovative and creative while in return also being able to have real life impacts. My family had a lot of influence on me as well. While my dad and mom did not major in CS, both my uncles, all of my cousins and my sister did. In a way, I am just keeping the family legacy going.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois due to its amazing CS program. UIUC provides its students with so many opportunities for research as well as collaboration that it is hard to turn down such an offer. The sense of community at Illinois is also unlike anywhere else that I have seen.

What are your passions outside of computing?
Outside of computing, I am deeply passionate about sports, especially tennis. I started playing tennis at the age of five and from then on it became my "thing". In my free time, I love being on the court and playing matches with my father.

Biography
Hi! My name is Luka Stojanovic. I was born in Chicago, Illinois, but I spent majority of my childhood in Serbia. I moved back to the United States in 2019 and have been living in Arlington Heights ever since. Growing up I loved staying active and played variety of sports, including tennis, karate, and basketball. I began focusing on academics only after middle school when I decided to challenge myself by taking most rigorous course loads available. Today, I try to do my best by balancing staying active as well as continuously pushing myself academically .
