How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I always had a general interest in computer science since I loved problem-solving, starting with Sudoku and playing with Scratch when I was younger. This interest later developed as I started to take computer science courses in high school and took part in a data science course through DPI. These courses showed me how to apply computer science and the potential it held, which was what motivated me to pursue computer science.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
Illinois has a strong reputation and many opportunities such as this program. Hearing from my friends who currently attend UIUC and their experiences also reinforced my decision to transfer here.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I love playing video games, reading, and staying active!

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
Going to concerts, milk tea, video games, going to the gym, and traveling.

Biography
Hi, I'm Stanley! I'm an incoming junior studying Computer Science and Economics. Before attending UIUC, I was at UIC, where I studied CS. I was a part of ACM, where I led a SIG on AI theory and was part of the board for SparkHacks, which is UIC's Hackathon. I'm currently doing research to establish a way to evaluate AI-related credentials with a UIC professor. I'm interested in doing research in general, and I'm looking forward to participating in the CS STARS program!
