How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I found Scratch in elementary school and block-coded a bunch of games and animations. I just fell in love with the process of watching something that I had programmed come to life.

What social interests matter to me?

Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose UIUC's renowned computer science program due to the multitude of computer science electives, incredible faculty, and the variety of extracurricular and research opportunities in computer science. I knew that this was an environment that would push me to grow as a problem solver and computer scientist.

What are your passions outside of computing?
I love to read literature (especially gothic horror and mystery novels), as well as spend time in nature and write.

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Illinois that you would like to share with prospective students? (For Continuing UIUC Students)
One of my favorite experiences at Illinois has been the SIG AIDA project showcase during my first semester. My team and I worked really hard on a machine learning project, and it was a ton of fun to share it with other students that loved computer science. The experience reminded me how enjoyable it is to work on a shared problem with a group of people.

What has been one of your favorite experiences as a CS STAR? (For Returning CS STARS)

What is my most impactful college experience?

These are a few of my favorite things!
A few of my favorite things are long walks, rainy fall evenings, midwest emo bands, and cute cats!

Biography
I was born in New Jersey and lived in places around the US and India until my family settled in the beautiful city of Charlotte, North Carolina. I was always fascinated by a variety of things as a child, but my passion for math eventually transformed into an interest in computer science, which is what I have been chasing ever since. Right now, I am trying to explore the intersection between computer science and healthcare to develop meaningful software.
