NewScientist -- To test how easily people can be fooled by manipulated profiles, Jaron Mink at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and his colleagues asked 286 study participants to look at three LinkedIn profiles each. Two of the three profiles contained computer-generated information, either in the form of a deepfake profile picture or AI-generated text.
