The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Siebel School of Computing and Data Science made a substantial impact at the world’s leading AI conference, which brings together thousands of researchers from both academia and industry. NeurIPS is known for its selective paper acceptance, for helping set research directions in the field, and for being considered one of the most influential conferences in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The University of Illinois stood out at the conference, with researchers sharing posters, joining workshops, and connecting with the wider AI community. The high number of accepted papers demonstrates the strength and leadership of Illinois research, the interdisciplinary teamwork that encourages innovation across campus, and the commitment to preparing students to excel in the field.

In November, Micro NeurIPS at Illinois held a poster event in the Electrical & Computer Engineering building. Students, faculty, and researchers from different fields previewed the many Illinois research papers accepted to NeurIPS before the international conference. The event showcased Illinois research across machine learning theory, large-scale systems, algorithms, computer vision, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, AI applications, and responsible AI.
