DynamoLLM: Designing LLM Inference Clusters for Performance and Energy Efficiency, a paper from a collaborative team of CS professor Josep Torrellas, CS PhD student Jovan Stojkovic and colleagues from Microsoft Azure Research - Systems, received the HPCA Best Paper Award at the 2025 IEEE Symposium on HPCA March 5 in Las Vegas, NV.

CS professor Josep Torrellas and collaborators have received recognition for two papers. "Everywhere All at Once: Co-Location Attacks on Public Cloud FaaS" was selected as an IEEE Micro 2025 Top Pick in the Computer Architecture Conferences. The authors are Zirui Neil Zhao, Adam Morrison, Christopher W. Fletcher, and Torrellas. "Untangle: A Principled Framework to Design Low-Leakage, High-Performance Dynamic Partitioning Schemes", was chosen as a Top Pick in Hardware and Embedded Security. Co-authors are Zhao, Morrison, Fletcher and Torrellas.

CS PhD alumnus Zirui Neil Zhao, who was advised by CS professor Josep Torrellas, will be joining the University of Texas at Austin faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in August 2025.

Illinois computer science professor Josep Torrellas will be the keynote speaker at ISPASS, the premier conference on performance analysis of systems, on May 6, 2024, in Indianapolis. He will discuss the work of our JUMP2.0 ACE Center for Evolvable Computing team.

Illinois computer science professor Josep Torrellas is a recipient of The Grainger College of Engineering's 2024 Tau Beta Pi Daniel C. Drucker Eminent Faculty Award. Kelley will be recognized formally at the Annual Engineering Awards Convocation in April.
