Abstract:
Planning with sensors incorporates sensors in the planning event to help the robot understand the current state of its environment. Normally, when we plan with sensors in static environments, we choose the type of sensors needed, and then we build interfaces based on the sensor’s specifications. Rather than building interfaces for different sensor combinations, we want a general interface that incorporates abstract information from selected sensors into the planning event. With this approach, we are able to eliminate the needs to build interfaces for different sensors and avoid the replanning event when the environment changes unexpectedly before we reach the desired goal.
