CS alumnus Yu Meng, mentored by Jiawie Han, received the ACM SIGKDD 2024 Dissertation Award at KDD2024, for his Ph.D. thesis, "Efficient and Effective Learning of Text Representations." Meng is an assistant professor at the University of Virginia School of Engineering & Applied Science.
