    CS faculty and students won multiple awards at ACM MobiCom 2024, the leading mobile computing and networking research conference. CS professor Deepak Vasisht was named a distinguished reviewer. Undergrad Jizheng He, advised by CS professor Elahe Soltanaghai, won the student research competition, PhD student Federico Cifuentes-Urtubey and CS professor Robin Hillary Kravets won the best poster award, and PhD student Jay Shenoy and Vasisht won the best community contribution award.

    Illinois CS faculty presented a record four papers at Mobicom 2023, including three by Deepak Vasisht’s group, with one from Indranil Gupta and one involving Tianyin Xu. The papers cover topics from satellite networking to human body localization, drone mobility without cameras, and mobile app testing. Vasisht gave the keynote at the first workshop on satellite communications.
