Daniel S. Katz, CS research professor and NCSA chief scientist, moderated the Research Software Alliance (ReSA) and CHORUS Forum which explored embedding research software in scholarly publishing. Katz underscored that "research software has become a foundational component of modern research, and improving its discoverability, citation, preservation and reproducibility requires coordinated action across the research ecosystem." The forum brought together publishers, funders, infrastructure providers, software researchers, engineers, and open science leaders to discuss how research software can be more effectively integrated into scholarly publishing.
