Two Grainger Engineering faculty, Yuxiong Wang, CS assistant professor, and Joohyung Kim, ECE associate professor, will bring their research projects to the Toyota Research Institute (TRI) URP 3.0, the next five-year phase of its University Research Program. The phase will include 69 projects across 31 universities with 88 TRI researchers and 104 faculty members, making it the largest cohort since the program’s inception. The projects selected cover all areas of TRI’s research, including AI advancement, robotics, driving and material science.

CS Professor Yuxiong Wang was selected for Dexmate Build with Vega U Research Grant Program for his proposal: "Scaling Bimanual Manipulation via Physics-Grounded Human-to-Robot Skill Transfer." The grant program aims to accelerate breakthroughs in Physical AI, embodied intelligence, and real-world robotics applications.
